Dear Al,
Congratulations on receiving the Nobel Peace Prize! In my personal opinion, that is so much more significant and important than being President of the United States. You've proven it is true when one door closes, another one opens. As a real estate agent that happens to me all the time. Lose one listing, get a better one. One buyer falls off the radar, another one pops up out of the blue.
I'm glad you've put all that hanging chads business behind you, and moved on toward loftier goals. You've gone global and changed the world! Even itsy-bitsy individuals like me are working on reducing their carbon footprint. You've become the Green God of the Globe. Wow, I'll bet there are some people in Washington who are just green with envy.
It's working. I'm seeing changes in my industry and in my office. Virtual tours and fabulous photos are saving thousands of gallons of gas by reducing the need to preview before showing a property. Blackberries and Trios are eliminating the need to carry ten pound paper planners. Craigslist is reducing the size of the classified section in the newspaper. I also think several Federal Express trucks are off the road because we scan and email documents we formerly over-nighted. Oh, and let's not forget those fluorescent light bulbs--I'm thinking about giving them away at open houses as a way to clean the air, light the dark, and instill goodwill toward the neighborhood real estate agent.
In closing, I want to say the White House was not your destiny; eliminating the Greenhouse effect is. May you continue to inspire the masses to clean up our messes.
