Yesterday I stopped by my listing to drop off more fliers and place an Open Saturday 1-4 sign. The sellers wanted to take several fliers with them last night and distribute them in the Art District of San Pedro at the First Thursday Event. I love it when a seller wants to become actively involved, so I rushed to Kinkos and delivered the papers hot off the press!
The first Thursday of every month the art galleries and shops hold a huge open house in downtown San Ped
ro. Old San Pedro comes to life with people meandering in and out of unique shops as they browse through the galleries and stores. Most just look, but a few fall in love with a piece of art and pull out their plastic. It is a win win situation for the shops, restaurants, residents and the City of San Pedro. By joining forces the retail outlets enjoy more exposure.
My open house is advertised on the MLS, ditto for the local newspaper and Craigslist, plus the condo across the street will be open too. Directional signs will be out in force on Saturday. With the power of two listings open on the same street I'm looking forward to a busy afternoon.
My client is delighted with the marketing efforts and showings are on the increase. I was pleased to see her in an upbeat state of mind. As I prepared to leave she held out a twenty dollar bill. I jokingly said, "Are you tipping me?" She laughed and replied, "Would you mind picking up some fresh flowers for the dining room table before the open house?" Let me repeat: I love it when a seller wants to do everything possible to increase the "showability" of the property. I'm thinking white roses will add a lovely touch.
