I've decided there is no such thing. Today was a declared day off, however, I've set up a couple of showings for my listings. I also answered an "urgent email" from a client, took a sneak peek at the MLS hotsheet, and agreed to meet a client/friend for an early bite to eat before attending a pro tennis match together. Hey, she has free tickets and we share a love of the game.
The above activities were woven into my morning off while I sashayed around town, did laundry and tidied up my abode. I really did not classify them as work, more like attending to life, and that's why real estate is such a great career choice for the multi-taskers among us. A little of this and a little of that fits my personality better than a whole lot of one activity. That would bore my brain and silence my soul.
So today I'll find a little time to garden, paint a few strokes on my work-in-progress, email a couple of my kids and relate my encounter with a seagull from Hades on last evening's walk with my daughter and six week old grandson. Staying in touch and sharing a few moments with the important people in my life, but still making time for real estate work, even on my days off, is my way of living life.
There is no clock to punch, no set in stone start time, there are simply homes to sell and homes to buy for my clients. The myriad of details in between all miraculously fall into place. One by one it all gets done. And some of it happens on my so-called days off.
