I read a post this morning about many fabulous accomplishments last week, and as I perused the comments ( there were a lot of them) I felt a tiny pang of agent envy. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to hear good news in this market, and I believe all good news is capable of elevating the housing mood. As I stopped reading and began musing back over my week, I discovered all I really did was move many things forward. There was a whole lot of moving, but not too much shaking.
Some of my real estate tasks took a giant growth step forward (if I do say so myself) and others inched along with little progress, and I confess a couple are stuck in stagnant water. There were no celebratory closings or fantastic new listings. It was a week of showing up for work each day, making the calls and contacts, scheduling the showings and servicing the listings.
It was also a week full of promises. I have buyers circling three listings. A new listing is thirty days away. There are buyers with summer deadlines. There's a short sale offer inching its way through the twists and turns of the offer maze at a big bank.
My current portfolio is a mixed bag of real estate projects in various stages of completion. A few are in the early stages, and the most recent closing still has a few loose ends to tie up before it is filed away.
Okay, I feel a bit more productive now; writing this was therapeutic. Some weeks moving things forward is enough.
